Outdoor Music in Northern Michigan

June-September 2024

After a busy day at the beach or at work, it’s time to kick back and relax a while. What better way than to listen to some music? You can find performances almost any night of the week in various communities of Northern Michigan. Area musicians as well as professional traveling groups are featured in these summertime performances. For the outdoor venues, grab your lawnchair or a blanket and get ready to be entertained. Outdoor performances are free; there may be a charge for an indoor venue performance. Below is the typical schedule for summer music. Stay tuned as events for 2023 will be added as information becomes available!

Here's a typical weekly schedule for outdoor, summer performances Up North:

Wednesdays

  • Pavilion Concerts at Veterans Park- 207 N. Lake St., Boyne City, 6:30-8pm
  • Concerts in the Park at Pennsylvania Park- 411 E. Lake St., Petoskey. Musicians perform in the park’s gazebo, 12-1pm.

Thursdays

  • June 27th-September 5th, 2024 – Music in the Park on Mackinac Island. Located at Marquette Park- 7200 Huron St. With a spectacular backdrop, this summer concert series is downtown across from the marina, at the foothills of Historic Fort Mackinac. Bring a picnic and enjoy  the best of Americana music. All concerts are free. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs for your comfort. Rain location at Mission Point Theater.  
  • Street Musique in Harbor Springs. Located on Main St. Musicians bring their talent to various locations throughout the business district.
  • Summer Concert Series in Charlevoix. Located at Odemark Pavilion in East Park- 307 Bridge St., Charlevoix. Music on the Round Lake waterfront.
  • Jordan Valley Community Band performs at Memorial Park Bandshell- 101 Spring St., East Jordan.

Fridays

  • June 7th-August 30th, 2024 – Stroll the Streets in downtown Boyne City. Music on the streets in the downtown area.
  • Music in the Park at Memorial Park- 101 Spring St., East Jordan.
  • Concerts in the Park at Pennsylvania Park- 411 E. Lake St., Petoskey. Musicians perform in the park’s gazebo, 12-1pm.
